The idea for Prozorro came during the Revolution of Dignity when a team of volunteers decided to reform the procurement sector and make it transparent. It took two years to become a state-owned enterprise officially in 2016. At the same time, the Prozorro system became mandatory for all public customers.
Not a penny from the state budget was spent on developing the system. It was developed in cooperation with the public organization Transparency International Ukraine, private electronic platforms, the Lviv IT company Quintagroup and the Ministry of Economy. The amount of investment was $ 35,000.
Thanks to Prozorro, Ukraine has saved UAH 190 billion since 2016, of which UAH 56 billion was saved in 2020. Today, the system has 55,037 announced tenders and 258,952 active suppliers.
