Ukraine, which has a rich agricultural potential, has long exported significant volumes of agricultural products, including fodder such as corn, sunflower, wheat and cake flour
In particular, the export of Organic Standard operators for the first quarter of 2021 was: 22,660,474 kg. In 2022, for the first quarter, it was possible to export: 28,045,375 kg. And in this year 2023, the first quarter was exported: 37,136,629 kg.
However, in April 2023, Ukrainian farmers had to face unforeseen circumstances that affected their export opportunities.
It is important to note that the ban on food imports from Ukraine to Poland, Slovakia, Romania and Hungary came as a surprise to many exporters. This ban led to instability in the market and forced companies to look for alternative ways of selling their products. Some exporters who already had contracts with importing countries had to return their products back to warehouses
This situation prompted Ukrainian farmers to react quickly and look for new markets for export. Despite the difficulties, many organic companies found alternative importers in other countries, which helped them avoid significant financial losses. This situation is an example of the flexibility and adaptability of Ukrainian organic agricultural enterprises.
