(ENF??)Recently, the Ministry of Digital Transformation announced that they want to give the Ukrainian IT market billions so that Ukraine ceases to be an "outsourced country." In a certain way, this is connected with preventing emigration sentiments among the people of IT. Let's start from afar.
By 2025, the Ministry of Digital Affairs wants to implement a project called "Digitalization," which was divided into three stages: wartime tasks in 2022, recovery in 2023-2025; modernization in 2026–2032. For this purpose, the agency will spend approximately UAH 69 billion. More than half of this money, according to the plans of the Ministry of Digital, will go to support domestic startups?
This is necessary for Ukrainian programmers to work for the Ukrainian market and Ukrainian IT products, not for foreign ones. The point is this. Domestic IT grew and became entrenched in outsourcing. Almost half of Ukrainian IT hubs develop products for non-Ukrainian customers. Of course, the Ministry of Statistics is aware of this and is aiming at ambitious plans - the capitalization of Ukraine through the development of Ukrainian startups, where Ukrainians will perform tasks for Ukrainian customers.
The Ministry of Statistics says that they would like there to be 6,000 startups in Ukraine by 2032. This is a little, but this indicator is undoubtedly significant. By the way, now there are a little more than one and a half thousand of them. To achieve the goals announced by the digital agency, it is necessary to do a simple thing first - to allocate grants to technology companies for their development from the early stages?
